Name every rule clearly

Use names that identify the device, location, or purpose. Names like Meter Line 1 or PLC Test Bench are easier to support than Rule 1 and Rule 2.

Plan COM port numbers

Avoid collisions with existing devices. Keep a written mapping of COM port to TCP endpoint so another engineer can understand the system later.

Watch status at scale

With many connections, status summaries matter. Operators need to see how many rules are running, connected, offline, reconnecting, or stopped.

Test capacity in your environment

Connection count depends on workload, hardware, device behavior, and network quality. For practical deployments, test the expected number of rules with real traffic before relying on it.

ComLinker multi-connection tools

ComLinker supports multiple bindings, search, status summaries, Start All, Stop All, and configuration import/export for repeatable setups.
